According to the Ministry of Health of the Peruvian State, the number of COVID-19 infections in Peru is decreasing; however, authorities still maintain regulations on the use of masks, social distancing, and proper handwashing.

To encourage citizens to follow the regulations, the project "More Protection, Less COVID-19" formed anti-COVID committees in areas such as San Juan de Lurigancho and Callao, areas considered the most contagious in the Lima region, where citizens will be trained by health consultants on issues of respiratory hygiene, social distancing, and handwashing practice.

The campaign is led by the Executive Directorate of Health Promotion (Peruvian State agency) together with ADRA Peru in the communities of "Sol 9 de Febrero," "8 de Marzo," and "Villa Rica."

The joint work teams, led by Dr. Alexandro Saco Valdivia, executive director of health promotion; and engineer Erick Quispe Mamani, general coordinator of the project for ADRA Peru; reached the villages in the most remote areas mentioned, prioritizing fieldwork and closely attending to the needs of each community’s reality.
