More than 110 churches across the Pennsylvania Conference hosted the Hope for Humanity Pentecost 2025 evangelistic series, reporting baptisms, professions of faith, and renewed commitment to Jesus as members and Bible interests responded to the meetings. Pentecost 2025 was a movement inviting Seventh-day Adventists in North America to collectively hold over 5,200 proclamation events throughout 2025.

Organizers described the initiative as a conference-wide effort marked by personal testimonies and local church participation.

One testimony came from Mark, whose spiritual journey began with a dream in which he saw himself riding a train bound for heaven. The experience prompted him to study the Bible and pursue a deeper relationship with God. When he was invited to the Prophecies of Hope meetings at the Honesdale Seventh-day Adventist Church, he decided to attend.

By the second meeting, Mark said he felt convicted to surrender his life to Christ. His wife, Mariam, joined him in the decision. On Saturday (Sabbath), Stephen Rajan baptized Mark and Mariam, and the couple also dedicated their daughter, Emily, as they committed as a family to walk with Christ.

“That dream of the train wasn’t just a dream; it was God’s invitation to me,” Mark shared. “As I studied the Bible and joined the meetings, my heart was transformed. I knew I wanted to follow Jesus fully, and baptism was my way of saying ‘Yes, Lord.’ The support of my family and church made this journey even more meaningful.”

At the Mifflintown Seventh-day Adventist Church, leaders highlighted the role of lay members in supporting evangelistic outreach. When Adventist pastor Paul Wasmer invited volunteers to present the series due to an existing commitment, Darcy Shultz stepped forward. Though she had not led a series before, organizers said she accepted the invitation while the church provided prayer and support. As a result, three individuals joined the church family—one through baptism and two through professions of faith.

Other congregations reported decisions linked to the meetings. At Reading Central Hispanic Seventh-day Adventist Church, Marcial, a longtime visitor, committed his life to Christ during the series.

In York, five individuals were baptized during the Hope for Humanity series at the York Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Organizers noted that while “2025” is part of the initiative’s name, local leaders expect continued follow-up and discipleship into 2026 as Adventist Churches build on the spiritual interest generated during the meetings.
