Hensley Moorooven elected as General Conference undersecretary during the 62nd GC Session in St. Louis, Missouri.

On July 6, 2025, during the 62nd General Conference (GC) Session in St. Louis, Missouri, delegates elected Hensley Moorooven as undersecretary of the Seventh-day Adventist Church for the 2025–2030 quinquennium.

Moorooven has served in this role since April 2018. His responsibilities include oversight of the General Conference Constitution and Bylaws, General Conference Working Policy, and the coordination of agendas and minutes for major leadership gatherings such as General Conference Session, Annual Council, Spring Meeting, and officer meetings. He also serves as liaison officer to the South Pacific Division and the Southern Africa-Indian Ocean Division.

A native of Mauritius, Moorooven has served the church in Réunion, Madagascar, South Africa, and Zimbabwe. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in theology from the Adventist University of Central Africa in Rwanda and a master’s in leadership from the Adventist University of Africa in Kenya.

Moorooven brings administrative precision, international experience, and a strong commitment to organizational mission.

The election is part of the broader decision-making process of the GC Session, where global delegates gather every five years for worship, prayer, and organizational leadership decisions.
