The Coastal Mission of Angola held its first Council of Elders under the theme “You Are a Chosen Generation,” drawn from 1 Peter 2:9. The council was led by António Bambi, ministerial secretary of the Southwest Angola Union, and brought together spiritual and administrative leaders for reflection, training, and a renewal of pastoral mission.
The program aimed to strengthen the leadership of elders, reaffirm the divine calling, and promote excellence in service to the church. Through biblical messages, practical sessions, and times of prayer, participants were encouraged to pursue holiness, purpose, and courage in ministry.
On the sidelines of this major event, on October 24, 2025, the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Caponte, Benguela, hosted a special gathering attended by 20 pastors' wives and more than 200 elders' wives. The initiative was part of the activities of the First Council of Elders of the Coastal Mission.
The meeting focused on ministerial training, promoting capacity building, inspiration, and recognition of women's roles in supporting spiritual leadership. Participants were encouraged to strengthen their commitment to mission, family, and community.
The Coastal Mission of Angola is the newest administrative institution of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Angola, established at the beginning of 2025 as a result of the realignment of the former Central Mission of Angola. The mission included the provinces of Kwanza-Sul and Benguela, now comprising the Coastal Mission.
