Digital Media Training Equips 84 Adventist Church Communicators in Papua New Guinea

The Menyamya Station Seventh-day Adventist Church in Papua New Guinea hosted a Communication and Media Training from October 27 to 31, 2025, bringing together 84 participants from Menyamya and Komako for a week of practical, digital-skills development.

Facilitated by the Markham 1 District communication and media department, the program trained communication leaders, pastors, elders, and young people in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Adventist audio and video production, branding guidelines, church website development, and digital ministry. The training aimed to help local churches improve their reports, strengthen their media presence, and set up quality audio for evangelistic programs.

Menyamya District Director Kevin Pais commended participants for their commitment.

“We have fasted and prayed, and God has answered our prayer by making everything possible for the success of this training,” he said.

Elder Elijah noted that it was the first training of its kind for both Menyamya and Komako and said it had strengthened collaboration between Markham 1 District and the ANGA Region. The ANGA Region—covering Menyamya, Komako and Marawaka—has long identified communication and media as areas of need.

During the closing ceremony, facilitator Ken Doulos highlighted the importance of inter-district cooperation and the need for churches to adapt to the digital era.

“We must use every tool available to share the gospel,” he said.

Participants received certificates of completion in recognition of their involvement. Organizers said the program has laid a foundation for ongoing digital capacity-building in the region.
