In March 2026, the Pakistan Union Section, the Seventh-day Adventist Church headquarters in the region, conducted a comprehensive training program for local Women’s Ministries leaders as a significant step toward strengthening leadership in local churches. The training took place across two mission fields, the Northern Section in Lahore and the Southern Section in Karachi.

The program focused on equipping women leaders with the knowledge, confidence, and practical skills needed to serve effectively in their local churches. Participants engaged in lectures, discussions, and hands-on workshops covering key areas such as leadership development, communication, event planning, and spiritual mentorship. Through these sessions, they gained a deeper understanding of their roles within the church and a clearer sense of their responsibilities as coordinators.

In particular, the Northern Section Women’s Ministries department has prioritized the systematic empowerment of local leaders. By ensuring access to essential information and resources, the department aims to build a strong foundation for sustainable, church-based ministry.

Khalida Abbas, Women’s Ministries director of the PKU, emphasized, “Training and equipping local church WM leaders is a vital process that enables them to grow and lead with greater effectiveness and stronger skills.”

The training also highlighted the spiritual significance of women’s leadership. Participants reflected on their roles not merely as administrative responsibilities, but as a divine calling to serve and nurture their communities through care and compassion.

Across Pakistan, women continue to play an active role in church life, organizing outreach initiatives, mentoring younger generations, and supporting families in need.

Church leaders said these efforts contribute to both spiritual growth and community development.
