Mission Caleb 2025 was launched with an event that brought together around 200 people at the Central Adventist Church in Itabuna, Bahia, Brazil. The main message was clear: next year, the Calebs will be working hard in local neighborhoods and cities, thus leaving their comfort zone and going far from home.

More than 200 people attended the launch of Mission Caleb 2025

Currently, more than 1,218 Calebs and 632 missionary pairs have signed up. Jakson Lima, leader of Adventist Youth Ministries in southern Bahia, highlighted the great expectations for the project. “We are preparing the best Caleb in the history of ABS! We have 155 leaders who were inspired and motivated to call young people from their communities to the mission. In 2025, we will return to our origins and save lives,” he said.

The Caleb Mission Project has its roots in the initiative of young Adventists who, inspired by the desire to serve and evangelize, exchanged their vacations to carry out community actions. The name Caleb refers to the biblical character known for his courage and faith, symbolizing the willingness of young people to face challenges and take the message of Christ to new places.

Baptism in the Room

The event also featured an emotional moment: the live broadcast of a baptism that took place in the home of a local family. Gabriel, a young man with cerebral palsy, and his mother were baptized. Gabriel, inspired by his older brother, who is already an Adventist, decided to surrender to Christ. Although his mother initially resisted her own baptism, she was moved by her son's decision and also went down into the water with him.

Baptism demonstrated that there will be no limits to the preaching of the gospel in Caleb Mission 2025

However, the room where the baptism took place was filled with family members and church members, all of whom were moved. The environment was transformed into a space for the manifestation of the Holy Spirit, with tears of joy. The pastors present emphasized that this baptism was not just a personal decision, but the result of continuous and blessed evangelistic work carried out through the Small Groups.

In this sense, the event marked the beginning of a transformative mission in 2025. Thus, with the launch of the Caleb Mission, the Adventist Church in southern Bahia took the first step in a journey of evangelism and discipleship that aims to touch lives and bring hope to the surrounding communities. Thus, it demonstrated that there will be no barriers or difficulties that prevent the preaching of the gospel wherever God sends.
