Baptisms Mark Growth of the Adventist Church in Cambodia

Two new believers were baptized in Prey Veng Province, Cambodia, during the Harvest 2025 evangelism program, as church leaders pray over the candidates before immersion.

In 2019, Prey Veng Province recorded a population of more than one million, with 95.5 percent identifying as Buddhist. Reaching this largely Buddhist population presents significant challenges, yet local church members continue to actively share the hope and healing of Jesus. Their efforts are fostering meaningful relationships and making a lasting impact in the community.

The Penley Seventh-day Adventist Church marked a significant milestone on July 19, 2025, as 50 individuals publicly committed their lives to Christ through baptism. The ceremony followed months of ongoing outreach and Bible study efforts led by both church leaders and members since the beginning of the year.

During the baptism ceremony, the congregation gathered to witness the fruits of their united mission.

“This result is a blessing from God and a reflection of the church’s dedication to sharing the message of salvation,” said one church elder present at the ceremony.

This baptism is part of the broader Harvest 2025 and Christ for Cambodia campaign initiated by the Southern Asia-Pacific Division and the Southeastern Union Mission. In collaboration with the local churches across the country. The Adventist Church in Cambodia (CAM) aims to bring the gospel to every province through Bible-based teaching, community engagement, and personal evangelism.

As of the end of July 2025, the Harvest 2025 campaign has resulted in more than 500 new members of the church throughout the country, with numbers continuing to grow. CAM officials expect a significant increase in total baptisms as the year progresses.

In addition to Harvest 2025 and Christ for Cambodia, the Adventist World Radio (AWR) Hope for Cambodia 2025 initiative is also making an impact northeastern region of Cambodia. Through the support of AWR, the program is projected to lead approximately 1,000 individuals to baptism by the end of the year. Together, these evangelistic efforts seek to establish a strong, coordinated movement to spread the love and message of Jesus Christ across Cambodia, leaders say.
