Everything that affects the body also affects the mind, and what happens to the body can facilitate or hinder physical, mental, and spiritual health. With this in mind, through Health Guarantee, the institution's insurance program, the Good Hope Adventist Clinic is promoting "Healthy Living," a series of live programs through Facebook and YouTube where mental health experts share their knowledge about the practice of the eight natural remedies. The Seventh-day Adventist Church in southern Peru collaborates with the dissemination of this initiative.

From July 4 to October 17, the “Healthy Living” series will be broadcast through scheduled sessions on the social media channels of Health Guarantee - Good Hope Clinic and UPS Adventists. The series will cover a wide range of topics aimed at exploring the interconnections between various lifestyle factors and mental health. Starting off with an exploration of how hydration impacts mental health on July 4, it will then delve into the essential functions and needs of sleep on July 18. On August 8, the focus will shift to examining how exercise can aid in stress regulation and enhance emotional health, followed by a look into the energizing effects of sunlight on August 22. The psychological benefits of air quality will be discussed on September 5, paving the way for a discussion on neuro-nutrients and their effect on mental health on September 19. The series will conclude with an examination of self-control's role in managing anxiety on October 3, and finally, the impact of hope in the recovery from anxiety on October 17.

The programs include the participation of the Good Hope Clinic public as attendees of each session. In addition, they can access contests, prizes, and basic care. This initiative is supported by the Christian Stewardship department of the Adventist Church, which not only promotes the care of people's spiritual lives, proper resource administration, and management of personal life but also promotes the comprehensive care of the human body as the temple of God.

“We want a healthier church; it is our dream because, through our body and mind, we can fully worship God. All people are invited to share this series, God established a program so that we have quality of life, and many need to know it,” said Henry Flores, leader of Christian Stewardship of the Southern Peruvian Union.

Importance of the Eight Natural Remedies

Seventh-day Adventists compare life to a wheel, with each of the eight natural remedies being the axles that allow it to function properly. These remedies, which are promoted as blessings for life and health, are clean air, rest, exercise, sunlight, water, nutrition, temperance, and hope.

When one or more of these axles break, the wheel will stop working, leaving the human body vulnerable to physical and mental illness and preventing a correct relationship between man and God. “So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God” (1 Corinthians 10:31).
