A small group of Adventist young people from the Uberlândia church in the industrial district of Triângulo Mineiro, Brazil, spent the morning of Monday, May 18, visiting clients at the Casa de Refúgio Missão Hagar clinic in the city of Frutal.

Wearing masks and respecting social distance regulations, the young people delivered 50 food baskets to the drug addiction recovery center, accompanied by the Minas Gerais Military Police. In addition to donating food, the youth sang and shared messages from the Bible.

“People, as Christians, help to build the character of people who are recovering and, at the same time, we are restoring our character. It is necessary to do what Christ did. This work is a two-way street,” says police sergeant Marcelo Nunes, who organized the visit.

For Carlos Henrique, leader of young Adventists for the Midwest and Triângulo Mineiro region (Missão Mineira Oeste), it is important that youth use their strength to help society. “In this moment of crisis that we are experiencing, young people have a very important role. Observing all the protocols indicated, they have gone to the streets, to blood centers, and, in this case, to rehabilitation clinics, to promote the eternal gospel. Young people give life to the church and when they get up we can see a prophetic commitment,” says Henrique.
