On April 12, 2025, members of the Hispanic Adventist community gathered near the bustling Feirinha da Madrugada in the Brás district, São Paulo, in Brazil, for an early-morning literature outreach initiative. Their goal: to share messages of hope by distributing A Chave da Virada (The Key to the Turnaround), the 2025 Impacto Esperança (Impact Hope) missionary book.
The group, made up of volunteers from five Adventist churches with predominantly Hispanic membership, walked the streets of the fair offering books to vendors, customers, and passersby. Alongside the Portuguese-language book, they also distributed Spanish copies of The Great Controversy.
Mariela Castilho, a member of the Vila Medeiros Adventist Church in northern São Paulo, has operated a clothing stand at the Feirinha for over 12 years. This year, she chose to go beyond her usual participation in Impacto Esperança by transforming her store into a place of outreach. She welcomed visitors with tea, cookies, and books.
“It’s very special to take part in this initiative here,” Castilho said. “God has given me this space to work. Why not dedicate a day or give up my spot to help with this wonderful mission? Sharing books with my Hispanic brothers and Brazilian friends is something truly meaningful.”
Spreading Hope Across the City
On April 11, pastors and staff from the São Paulo East and North regional headquarters of the Seventh-day Adventist Church also joined the outreach. In Vila Matilde, they distributed A Chave da Virada (The Key to Turnaround) along with a special missionary magazine for children.
“I want to thank each church and every member who purchased books to give away freely, in their neighborhoods, on the streets, to family and friends, as an introduction to what promises to be a powerful Holy Week,” said Luiz Piazze, president of the East São Paulo Conference.
Across the conference territory, more than 350,000 copies of A Chave da Virada will be distributed during street outreach activities, health expos, community support programs, and other initiatives designed to bring encouragement and spiritual reflection to the public.

Actions of Hope

Throughout the territory of the East São Paulo East Conference, more than 350,000 copies of A Chave da Virada will be distributed through street delivery actions, in addition to health fairs, solidarity clothing lines, and other initiatives.
