Students from the Adventist College of Ecuador (CADE) planted 1,510 trees. This activity, coordinated by CADE Foods, brought together teachers and authorities from the Autonomous Government of Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas (GAD), a province located in the north-central part of Ecuador, demonstrating their commitment to environmental awareness and social responsibility.

Around 300 people began the work of planting the fruit trees on April 26, 2024. Johana Nuñez, the prefect of Santo Domingo, was present at the activity, which began with a brief civic act that motivated people to leave “green footprints” and be good ambassadors. After the event, reforestation began on the 4 hectares of the CADE campus.

Watch a video of the reforestation:

“Seeing the interest of our students, raising awareness, seeing the willingness to take care of our nature even in the mud, affirms our beliefs and fills us with joy,” said Professor Maridoris Molina, dean of the Adventist College of Ecuador.

Likewise, via social networks, the CADE Foods institution mentioned: “It is an honor for us to have collaborated in this activity that reflects the commitment of CADE Foods to the environment and the community. Thanks to everyone involved, we have left a green footprint that will last for generations!”

The students' joy was noticeable as for many, it was their first time. Adults and children crossed off planting a tree from their list of “life activities.” This journey is just the beginning of a fruitful collaboration that denotes the positive impact that Adventist institutions leave in the community.
