The Adventist Community Center of Vilcabamba, along with members of the Adventist Church in the area, provided several free services to the community of Vilcabamba in the south of Ecuador. These services included medical care, comprehensive eye assessments, a fair featuring eight natural remedies, the distribution of reading glasses, and the offering of vegetarian food. Additionally, there was a stand dedicated to the prevention of child sexual violence.

IAt the health fair, 80 people of all ages learned about the importance of a healthy lifestyle. Additionally, 41 people expressed interest in receiving Bible studies at home and learning more about the gospel. This interest was sparked by the intentional evangelism efforts of the Adventist Church members in the area, who shared the message of salvation during the health event.

Local Adventist members presented the gospel message during the health fair with the distribution of the book 'The Great Controversy.'

“We were very happy to see people's positive responses and to make known our Community Center and our mission as an Adventist Church. Each decision of the Bible study has been a victory for the glory of God,” mentioned Jhonny Aillón, the pastor of the Loja district.

This program was supported by the local church, pastoral family, volunteer doctors, external professionals, and retired pastors. Organizers are already preparing a healthy cooking course for the month of October and a baking and pastry course for the end of the year.

See more about this health brigade in the following video:

Vilcabamba is a village belonging to the province of Loja in southern Ecuador and is recognized for being the oldest city in the country. Therefore, programming of this nature is very well received by the population.
