On January 19, 2024, the Southern Asia-Pacific Division (SSD) of Seventh-day Adventists opened the doors to its new health clinic, marking a significant step toward community well-being. The clinic's mission is to provide accessible healthcare services to the local community and employees within the division's territory, reflecting the church's dedication to holistic health and community service.

The Adventist Church, which is known for emphasizing health and wellness, has taken a proactive approach to meeting the community's healthcare requirements. The newly opened health clinic will provide a variety of services, including:

  • Primary Care: general health check-ups, vaccinations, and preventive care

  • Health Education: workshops and seminars on nutrition, lifestyle, and overall well-being

  • Community Outreach: engaging with local residents to understand and address specific health concerns.

The clinic has ambitious plans for expansion, including the implementation of comprehensive healthcare services to better meet the community's diverse needs. In the near future, the clinic intends to offer dental services, as well as mental health assessments and counseling to address psychological well-being. Furthermore, the clinic plans to incorporate optical services to broaden its range of offerings, assuring a comprehensive approach to health care for everybody. These future offerings demonstrate the clinic's dedication to growing and adapting to the changing healthcare landscape while consistently prioritizing the community's overall health and wellness.

SSD officials and staff attended the inauguration ceremony. Pastor Roger Caderma, division president, voiced his support for the project, saying, "We believe in assisting our community in any manner imaginable. The health clinic is an extension of our dedication to our neighbors' well-being, and we are pleased to see how it can improve the lives of those we serve."

Qualified medical professionals and Adventist community volunteers who are all dedicated to offering high-quality care with compassion at the health clinic.

Dr. Lalaine Alfanoso, SSD's health director, expressed gratitude for the Adventist Church's commitment to opening the health clinic. "I am grateful for the Adventist Church's initiative in establishing this health clinic. It provides much-needed healthcare services right in our neighborhood, making it easier for everyone to prioritize their health,” she said.

The Southern Asia-Pacific Division invites the community to visit the health clinic and take advantage of the services available. The clinic is open on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and appointments can be scheduled by calling the division office at (046) 414-4000.

This initiative reflects the Adventist Church's ongoing commitment to promoting the health and well-being of individuals and communities. The health clinic is poised to become a valuable resource for the local community, fostering a culture of wellness and compassion.
