The Seventh-day Adventist Church in the South American Division has launched the 300 Enviados hasta el último rincón (300 Sent to the Last Corner) project, an initiative aimed at training and equipping 300 volunteer evangelists in the regions of Cusco, Apurímac, and Madre de Dios to spread the gospel in these areas of southern Peru.
Through a cycle of 20 virtual training sessions via Zoom, volunteer church members receive weekly training on how to lead others to God through Bible studies and effectively share the word of God.
The leaders of the South Eastern Peru Mission (MSOP), the administrative headquarters of the Adventist Church for that region, and of the South Peruvian Union are in charge of imparting this knowledge. They provide church volunteers with the necessary tools so that each can guide one or three candidates for baptism in their localities.
High-impact Evangelism
This effort is part of a larger initiative that seeks to impact missionary mobilization at the local and national levels significantly. The initiative also aligns with the union’s Project 100, which seeks to train 100 members from each missionary district as Bible instructors.
In total, the goal is to train 100,000 Adventists throughout southern Peru, and to have each of them begin the year by offering at least one Bible study, with the hope of generating a large number of Bible students.
Each project responds to the growing commitment of the church to strengthen missionary work. With the support of the Peru South East Mission and the Southern Peruvian Union, the church in the region hopes to generate a great impact on the spiritual life of the inhabitants of the Cusco, Apurímac, and Madre de Dios communities.
