The celebration of the Adventist Church's 100th anniversary in Sergipe, Brazil, was marked by the inauguration of the new administrative headquarters of the Sergipe Mission, an administrative office of the denomination, and the Aracaju Adventist College (CAAJU).

The event brought together civil and religious authorities, including the president of the Adventist Church General Conference headquarters, Ted Wilson, and the governor of the state, Fabio Mitidieri.

The ceremony took place in the auditorium of the new school and was attended by Church leaders from South America, as well as representatives from Bahia and Sergipe. During the event, Wilson highlighted the importance of the new structures for the Adventist mission.

“What a privilege to be here to inaugurate these sacred spaces. When you enter these buildings, remember: these are places where God is present, and our mission is to lead these children to a real encounter with Christ,” he said.

The celebration was attended by global church leaders, South American Division leaders, Bahia leaders, and Sergipe leaders.

The school, which can accommodate 1,600 students, has a modern and welcoming structure that includes more than 30 classrooms, a bilingual program, maker culture, robotics, gourmet cuisine, financial education, and a multi-sport gym. In addition, it has an auditorium for nearly 500 people and an artificial intelligence monitoring system to ensure the safety of students and employees.

The state governor highlighted the quality of the institutional project. “We can see love and dedication in every detail of this school. Adventist Education has not only thought about the physical structure, but also about the future of the children and the comprehensive education of the students,” praised Fábio Mitidieri.

During the ceremony, the impact of Adventist education was evident in the story of teacher Andréa da Silva. Influenced by the school environment, she decided to give her life to Christ through baptism.

“Every service with the teachers, every contact with the Word of God at school, led me to that decision that transformed my family,” she said emotionally.

For Moisés Moacyr, president of the Adventist Church for Bahia and Sergipe, the inauguration of the school reinforces the mission of that institution.

“Here we have a structure that works with Christian values, always at the service of the family and society. This is a dream come true,” he said.

The Adventist Education Network has been serving for 128 years, transforming lives around the world. In Sergipe, its history began in 1928, with improvised classrooms in the Central Adventist Church of Aracaju. Today, the new environment represents the continuity of that legacy.

According to Stanley Arco, president of the Adventist Church in South America, Adventist education stands out for its comprehensive teaching.

“Our goal is to develop students in all areas: physical, mental, spiritual and social. Offering a structure like that makes it possible to offer society a comprehensive education,” he concluded.

Strengthening the Mission

The inauguration of the new administrative headquarters of the Sergipe Mission represents a step forward for Adventism in the region.

“If the Adventist Church were a municipality, it would be the 14th largest in population in the state. This demonstrates the importance of a structure that allows us to better serve our members and society, promoting the gospel efficiently,” explained Diego Barros, president of the Adventist Church in Sergipe.
