ADRA Romania Launches Adult Education and Job Training Project

Romania, like many European nations, is currently navigating a challenging labor market landscape. The decline in birth rates, an aging population, and workforce migration have left a profound impact on communities.

Recent crises—health, energy, and geopolitical—have further intensified the challenges individuals face. Against this backdrop, adult education has become a necessity, offering opportunities to transform vulnerability into potential and restore hope.

To address these needs, ADRA Romania has launched the "REPROFILAT -- Professional Retraining, Continuous Learning, and Labor Market Counseling" project.

The initiative is designed for adults with limited education who are looking for work or need new professional skills to re-enter the job market. The project is funded through the European Union’s Education and Employment Program (2021–2027) and supported by Romania’s Ministry of Investments and European Projects.

A New Opportunity for Progress

The project will run from September 2025 to February 2027 in Hunedoara and Timiș counties, located in western Romania.

The program will provide career guidance and counseling services, recognition of skills gained outside formal education, and training in basic digital skills.

“By implementing the REPROFILAT project in the West Region, ADRA promotes quality education and the development of decent employment opportunities for both individuals at the beginning of their careers and those seeking a fresh start,” said Alina Țâțaru, Business Monitoring Expert and Project Manager at ADRA Romania. “Our goal is to assist 305 individuals in finding their place in the labor market, thereby improving their economic situations and quality of life.”
