When a recent tornado passed through Rio Bonito do Iguaçu, in Paraná, Brazil, on November 7, 2025, it left streets covered in debris, houses destroyed, and entire families in need.
Among the first institutions to mobilize was the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) in Brazil, the humanitarian arm of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, which launched a national fundraising campaign to provide aid to the affected families. The organization also sent a team to the site to assess the most urgent needs and define the next steps for assistance.

“We are closely monitoring the situation and seeking to identify the families most in need at this time. Every donation is a seed of hope for those who have lost everything,” said Günther Wallauer, leader of ADRA in Southern Brazil, who is in the region providing support to local teams.
According to preliminary information, hundreds of people have been displaced or have suffered severe damage to their homes. ADRA, in partnership with local churches and community leaders, is coordinating the delivery of food, clothing, and basic hygiene items, as well as emotional and spiritual support to the affected families.
ADRA leaders state that, at this time, financial contributions are considered the most effective form of support, enabling the rapid allocation of resources according to the needs identified on-site.

ADRA emphasizes that all updates regarding projects, new types of support, or potential calls for volunteers will be shared through the institution's official channels, such as the ADRA Brazil website and verified profiles on social media.
“Donating is transforming pain into hope. With each contribution, ADRA is able to get closer to those who need to get back on their feet,” emphasized Herbert Boger, director of the agency in Brazil.
With a presence in every state of Brazil, ADRA is recognized for its work in disaster situations, always with the purpose of bringing dignity, love, and solidarity to those who need it most.
