On the evening of July 6, the Northern Asia-Pacific Division (NSD) presented its official report at the 62nd General Conference Session.

Delegates from NSD’s nine territories, including Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Mongolia, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and North Korea, entered the stage in traditional attire, waving national flags. A fan dance performance followed, celebrating the region’s rich cultural diversity.

NSD president Kim YoHan warmly welcomed the global audience with the following message:

“We are delighted to welcome each one of you to our beautiful territory tonight. NSD consists of nine diverse nations. Although we come from different backgrounds, speak different languages, and practice different cultures and religions, we are united by one spirit: Mission First. Despite the challenges of working in regions that embrace Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, and other religions, we move forward together with one spirit—Mission First. We do our best to proclaim the gospel and share the message of hope and salvation.”

A video presentation followed, highlighting the division’s expanding mission field. With the addition of four countries in October 2023, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh, NSD now includes nearly 400 million Muslims, making it the division with the highest Muslim population in the world. This demographic shift presents both challenges and opportunities for the mission.

The video emphasized the importance of reaching the 680 million people in the NSD territory, many of whom have never heard the gospel. In response, pastors and church members are actively engaged in the “I Will Go” movement, proclaiming the three angels’ messages.

GC president Ted Wilson, along with other GC leaders, visited Korea in 2023 to encourage local leaders in their mission. Wilson also participated in NSD’s Year-end Meetings and the 120th anniversary celebration of the Korean Union.

During the past quinquennium, NSD pursued a balanced approach to mission and spiritual revival through Total Member Involvement (TMI), health evangelism, creation science education, worship renewal, and emphasis on biblical identity.

Key initiatives include the LOUD VOICE 2025 campaign, which aims to hold 2,025 evangelistic meetings and baptize 20,250 people in one year. Additionally, the Pioneer Mission Movement (PMM) and the 1000 Missionary Movement have collectively led to tens of thousands of baptisms and the establishment of hundreds of churches worldwide.

The report also addressed the significant challenge of the mission in North Korea, the world’s most closed country. NSD is preparing through prayer campaigns and training programs like NKPMM and Priscilla & Aquila missionary training, leading to recent baptisms among North Korean defectors.

NSD departments have actively trained pastors and laypeople in spiritual leadership, family ministry, stewardship, and youth engagement, including a successful Pathfinder Camporee attended by 4,000 participants. Across the territory, 233 institutions—including schools, hospitals, publishing houses, and food companies—are serving communities and spreading the love of Christ.

Kim concluded with a passionate appeal:

“NSD exists to fulfill our mission—reaching the 680 million people in our territory with the gospel. As we proclaim, ‘I WILL GO!’ may we continue to press forward. Mission is not an option; it is our identity and our life. As Jesus’ return draws near, let us continue to move forward. Maranatha!”
