On February 1, 2025, the Adventist community center in Gunzenhausen, Germany, along with the newly established “Wolkenflitzer” daycare center, was officially inaugurated in a celebratory service. The “Wolkenflitzer” daycare center officially opened its doors on December 6, and its dedication ceremony gathered distinguished guests, including representatives from the city of Gunzenhausen, the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Bavaria, the local Adventist congregation, the South German Building Association (which oversees the Church’s real estate in southern Germany), and the AWW leadership. Gunzenhausen Mayor Karl-Heinz Fitz expressed his appreciation for the new daycare, noting that its opening was an important step in addressing the region’s growing demand for early childhood education facilities. About the “Wolkenflitzer” Daycare Center

The AWW-operated facility provides care for a total of 62 children, offering 12 crèche places for infants and 50 daycare places for older children, distributed across three care groups. The daycare spans 670 square meters over two floors, designed to accommodate a nurturing learning environment. Additionally, the center features a spacious 600-square-meter outdoor playground, allowing children ample room for physical activity and exploration.

The total construction cost of the daycare center amounted to €4.6 million. The Free State of Bavaria contributed €1.8 million, while the City of Gunzenhausen provided €1 million toward the project. The remaining funds were raised through a joint effort by the South German Building Association, the Adventist Church, and the AWW, ensuring the project’s successful completion.

The AWW expressed its hope that the new community center and daycare will serve as a dynamic space for both children and the broader community. In a statement, the organization highlighted the role of churches as places that foster connection, belonging, and support for all generations.
