Given the uncertainty and citizen insecurity that arose in Peru after the quarantine was lifted, police officers from Chiquián, located in the central Peruvian region of Ancash, came to the Seventh-day Adventist Church to request reflections of peace and hope before this situation.

Under the theme “Receive something divine, from heaven,” a fifteen-minute devotional was held on Monday, July 20, under the direction of Pastor Anthony Araujo, district leader of the Adventist Church in Chiquian.

The pastor clearly explained the verse from Psalm 127:1, “Unless the Lord guards the city, The watchman stays awake in vain.” Participants said this was a message that filled them with hope and motivated them to trust God more. In addition, Araujo emphasized that God needs policemen of today and urged them to stay on the side of justice.

Major José Marti Barrón was grateful for the message given to the police force and asked the pastor to present a devotional message every Monday, along with a Bible study on “The Faith of Jesus.”
