Ângela dos Santos, 31, has lived in the Várzea Grande community, in Aracaju, since she was born. She says she is impacted by the action the participants of Caleb Mission project are carrying out in her neighborhood. “We face so many problems in life, that getting to the end of the day and hearing about God, making new friends, receiving affection and material help too, is priceless! We are privileged with this opportunity to have such special young people close by and who are willing to serve us and explain about the Bible,” she declares.

During the January vacation period, more than 8,000 volunteers have donated their time to carry out social and evangelistic actions, as well as visits to needy communities. For Pastor Fernando Galvão, the person responsible for young people in the State of Sergipe, the initiative provides remarkable experiences for those who are assisted and those who attend. “The stories of impacted youth are uplifting. Caleb Mission collaborates with the gifts and talents of our youth and adolescents. Many discover skills during evangelisms and social actions,” he emphasizes.

That's exactly what happened to teenager Ian Alves. "I'm very shy. During evangelistic actions and social actions, I have discovered new gifts, made friends, and felt more comfortable in communicating and speaking in public. I am very happy to preach the gospel to so many people in need. So, I'm overcoming shyness more and more”, he states.

In all actions, Calebs and guests are following the recommendations to avoid the contagion of the coronavirus. “We understand that we need to protect ourselves and protect the community as well. But following the protocols, we can come together and bring hope to all these people who need it so much, especially at this stage of the pandemic. We have shared remarkable experiences in evangelistic evenings and during social actions, but always safely,” underlines Hassani Nascimento, the local pastor.
