Joy and Hope found in Volunteers and Beneficiaries of the ADRA project "Children help Children"

For most children, December is the month of gifts, peace, joy, and family time. For children from disadvantaged families, things are different. Because of the worries that weigh on their parents' shoulders and because of the absence, or departure, of one of their parents, part of the joy of childhood is lost. Instead of playing like other children, these children spend their time absorbed by their shortcomings and sadness.

The ADRA project, "Children help Children", encourages children and young people to volunteer to bring joy and hope to the hearts of their peers. Children help Children is a project that aims at promoting cohesion within the local community through the involvement and altruism of those who want to do good. Adapted to a child's understanding, the involvement in the project begins with a game in which each child volunteer receives a purse which he himself assembles, and then goes on to raise the money needed to purchase what they want to give to the children in need.

The project, which began in 2007 as part of ADRA’s " Basic Education and Health", has served 51,332 children from vulnerable families from 2007-2020.

This year, the ADRA project "Children help Children" distributed 1,271 boxes to seven regions in the country, namely: Muntenia, Dobrogea, Moldova, Bucovina, Transylvania, Maramureș, and Oltenia.

We want to take the time to thank all of our supporters - those who have volunteered or provided financial or any other type of support. We thank you and want to encourage you to continue supporting those in need.

Those who want to get involved and join the ADRA Romania team in the “Children help Children” project, can do so by:
