The community health center in Tombil was praised by Australian High Commissioner Nick Warner earlier this month during his visit to inspect projects funded by AusAID, according to a press report in the National New Guinea.

Warner said he was pleased that projects in the area were managed properly and benefited the people who appreciated the services, says the paper, which also quotes Health Extension Officer Frank Kagai, who initiated the aid post project. Kagai thanked AusAID for recognizing their effort and assisting with aid.

Kagai also said that the aid post was a community-funded project which was run by the Seventh-day Adventist Church to serve the rural people in the area-the South Waghi district of the Western Highlands.

Seventh-day Adventists in Papua New Guinea number 190,000 baptized members worshiping in 742 churches.
