“You are the light of the world,” based on Matthew 5:14, was the central theme of the Seventh-day Adventist Young Adult event held at the Andoharanofotsy Seventh-day Adventist Church in the Antsirasoa District, Madagascar.
The program emphasized the calling of Adventist young people to be beacons of light, leading others to Jesus through preaching, service, and personal witness.
During the Sabbath (Saturday) sermon on November 15, 2025, speakers highlighted that accepting the Holy Spirit is both a privilege and a responsibility in carrying forward God’s work. Young people were reminded that their mission is to reflect the light of Christ and help their friends discover Him as the true source of hope and salvation.
Evangelistic Work in Morarano
For the past three years, the Andoharanofotsy church has been engaged in evangelistic outreach in Morarano, a nearby town within the same municipality. Adventist believers already living in Morarano have formed a working group to lead Bible studies, seminars, and community service activities.
Local leaders have set a vision to establish a Sabbath School for children in Morarano and to continue strengthening the presence of the church there. According to Moise Edgard, leader of the older youth at Andoharanofotsy, the youth will play a key role in this outreach, in harmony with the other “daughter churches” that have already been established from the mother congregation.
Every third Sabbath of the month, young people from Andoharanofotsy are mobilized for this mission focus, sharing encouraging messages, including written letters, and supporting the development of the church and its construction projects. Edgard noted that in the coming year, the youth department plans to move forward with scheduled initiatives specifically aimed at advancing the evangelistic work in Morarano.
