Urban Mission Training in Taiwan Equips Women Leaders for Outreach

Women leaders gathered in Taipei, Taiwan, from March 27 to 30, 2026, for a training program focused on strengthening mission in urban settings. Centered on the theme “Faith, Prayer, and Mission,” the meeting aimed to renew spiritual commitment and equip participants for active outreach in city environments.

Organizers designed the program to address the growing challenges of ministry in large cities, where fast-paced lifestyles, secular culture, and social isolation often make it difficult to build lasting relationships. Participants engaged in seminars, group discussions, and reflection sessions to explore practical ways to reach women in these complex urban realities.

Despite these challenges, leaders emphasized that cities also present significant opportunities for mission. The training called on women not to withdraw from urban life but to engage it intentionally and creatively.

“Our women were challenged to go, to build bridges, and through friendship, evangelism, and digital media, to cross those bridges,” said Joyce Chen, Women’s Ministries director of the Taiwan Conference.

Participants also discussed how Women’s Ministries can remain relevant by responding to the real-life pressures women face in metropolitan contexts.

“An effective mission must begin with a strong spiritual foundation. Faith and prayer are not separate from mission but essential to it," Chen added.

Speakers emphasized this point and encouraged participants to cultivate a consistent relationship with God as the source of strength for ministry.

As the initiative moves forward, leaders expressed hope that women will continue to step into their communities, building connections and sharing faith, hope, and support in the heart of the city.
