Hundreds of Seventh-day Adventists took part in a mass clean-up across Honiara on March 29, 2026, as part of preparations for the upcoming Solomon Islands for Christ evangelism program.

Members from churches across the city worked in coordinated groups covering major sections of Honiara’s main highway and surrounding areas, collecting rubbish, clearing overgrown grass, and cleaning drainage.

The initiative, organized by the Solomon Islands Mission, also extended beyond the capital, with similar clean-up activities carried out in provincial centers, including Gizo.

Chairman of the Solomon Islands for Christ steering committee, Newton Langai, said the initiative demonstrates a broader approach to mission.

“The Solomon for Christ campaign is not only about preaching but also about helping and caring for the community,” he said.

ADRA Solomon Islands, the humanitarian arm of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, supported the campaign by providing vehicles to assist with rubbish collection.

ADRA Director Leyn Elizer Gantare said the partnership emphasized a commitment to practical community service.

“Working together in community service helps promote healthy living environments and demonstrates our commitment to caring for people and strengthening communities across Honiara and the provinces,” he said.

The Solomon Islands for Christ campaign is scheduled to run from July 5 to 11 and will feature around 300 local and international speakers across multiple locations nationwide.
