The Inter-American Division (IAD) will join Adventists around the world on September 5, 2026, for the launch of OneVoice27, an initiative designed to engage church members in a year of spiritual and creative preparation leading into 2027, when the church will commemorate 2,000 years since Jesus' baptism.
Centered on the message of Revelation 21:5—that in Jesus all things can be made new—the initiative will invite members across IAD’s 25 unions to use their gifts, influence, and digital platforms to share Christ with friends, relatives, neighbors, and their communities.
“OneVoice27 is an opportunity for every church member to get involved, using digital platforms to tell our friends, neighbors, and families that, in Jesus, all things are made new,” said Abel Márquez, communication director of IAD.
The September 5 launch marks the beginning of a broader process, Márquez said. During the months ahead, members will be encouraged to deepen their relationship with Christ while developing practical and creative ways to share their faith.
“If we are going to share Jesus, we need to draw closer to Him,” Márquez said. He said that process includes prayer, Bible study, and the development of technical and creative skills to communicate effectively through social media and other digital platforms.
Márquez describes the strategy as having two connected dimensions: OneVoice27 will first focus on uniting and preparing church members around a common mission, leading into the outward-facing All Things New evangelistic emphasis in 2027.
IAD calls for the initiative to reach every local field and congregation, engaging members across generations and ministries. Children, young people, women, communicators, evangelists, pastors, and others will be encouraged to contribute their particular gifts to the effort, Márquez said.
That territory-wide effort is already taking shape. On August 19, union communication directors met virtually to review strategy, available resources, and plans for engaging local fields, institutions, churches, and members ahead of September 5.
The meeting followed a similar briefing held the previous week with directors and teams from IAD’s network of more than 80 Adventist radio stations. During that meeting, they discussed how their media ministries can engage listeners and church members. Communication and youth ministries leaders are also scheduled to meet as coordination continues.
Across the unions, plans are taking different forms.
In the North Mexican and Central Mexican Unions, pastors are gathering to study the OneVoice27 strategy and consider how to engage members in their territories.
Caribbean Union leaders are inviting hundreds of congregations to establish local OneVoice27 committees to coordinate activities and encourage participation.
In the West Venezuela Union, associate communication director Javier E. Páez says leaders and members have been learning about OneVoice27 during the past two weeks.
"The September 5 launch," he said, "will provide an opportunity for congregations to join the worldwide initiative and begin shaping plans for their churches and surrounding communities."
Márquez says unions have the flexibility to shape their launch around local realities, combining IAD-produced resources with their own programs and creative approaches.
“The idea is for everyone to get involved,” he said, "encouraging each territory to find meaningful ways to engage its members."
To support those efforts, IAD is preparing materials in English, Spanish, and French, including videos, social media graphics, the official theme song, messages from church leaders, and content featuring creative disciples from across Inter-America for use in the lead-up to and during the September 5 launch.
The IAD-provided resources will help churches and members participate in OneVoice27 across a range of media and communication platforms while building toward the outward-facing All Things New emphasis in 2027. Videos, social media materials, and other resources will be available through the OneVoice27 Inter-America resource hub.
A monthly newsletter, distributed on the 27th of each month, will follow the IAD roadmap with resources, upcoming activities, updates from across the territory, and stories emerging from the initiative. The first edition, scheduled for August 27, will focus on the September 5 launch.
As part of the September 5 launch, unions will conduct programs tailored to their territories. That afternoon, a coordinated digital outreach effort will invite members across Inter-America to share OneVoice27 content, declare “I’m in,” and encourage others to join using the #OneVoice27 hashtag.
IAD leaders emphasized, however, that the initiative begins with spiritual preparation rather than social media.
On August 31, unions, local fields, and institutions will be invited to dedicate office worship to consecration, unity, and prayer for mission. Prayer will continue September 1–4 as participants prepare for the worldwide launch.
“OneVoice27 does not begin on September 5, and it does not begin with a social media post,” Márquez said. “Before speaking with one voice, we need to listen to His [God’s] voice.”
Looking toward 2027, Márquez encouraged members to make their faith increasingly visible in the digital space.
“Let’s prepare spiritually, but let’s also learn a little more about how to use our social networks to talk about Jesus as we journey toward 2027,” he said.
