In Ukraine, the Movement of Hope medical and social program brings assistance to hundreds

The Seventh-day Adventist community of the village of Novoarkhangelsk, Ukraine, has joined the all-Ukrainian project "Movement of Hope" with the support of Adventist World Radio.

On June 14, a community meeting was held for listeners of Radio Voice of Hope, an Adventist broadcast. Participants were offered a communication program and exercises aimed at emotional recovery. Olena Nynnyk, a psychologist from Khmelnytskyi region, conducted an art therapy class. The evening ended with a musical program with Svitlana Khomenko, the host of Voice of Hope.

A team of doctors and volunteers from the Movement of Hope project worked in Novoarkhangelsk from June 15-19. Local residents were able to receive free consultations from specialists and use a number of medical services. More than 300 people received assistance, and doctors provided about 900 services. Services included consultations with an endocrinologist, psychological assistance, consultations with a rehabilitation doctor, ultrasound diagnostics, electrocardiography, laboratory blood tests, therapeutic massages, a fitness class, and recommendations for a healthy lifestyle.

A separate recreation and entertainment area was organized for families with children. They were treated to popcorn and cotton candy and provided with various playful activities. More than 50 children were served.

The program also included evenings of spiritual support called “The Peace You Dream About,” led by Dmytro Kolotylo. During the meetings, participants reflected on questions about God’s presence in difficult times, overcoming life’s challenges, and finding inner peace. Each evening was accompanied by musical performances, poetry recitations, and personal testimonies.

According to the organizers, the initiative has received positive feedback from local authorities, clergy, and community residents. The organizers note that the project has become not only a platform for providing practical medical care but also an opportunity to support people emotionally, spiritually, and socially.
