The 15th annual Inter-European Division Media Day was hosted on October 24 in Alsbach-Hähnlein, Hesse, Germany. The event, organized by Hope Media Europe and the German Adventist Youth department, was themed "Between Two Worlds" and was attended by approximately 140 people.
Media Day is designed to serve as an interactive exchange and networking program for media enthusiasts and aspiring creators, showcasing projects, expanding skill sets through specialized workshops, and discovering and nurturing young talent.
Samuel Rösch, singer-songwriter and winner of The Voice of Germany season 8 (2018), served as keynote speaker. Rösch is an active Protestant Christian with a background in religious education who regularly performs concerts and literary-musical events featuring songs and readings from his book Ich glaub an Dich (I believe in You) (co-authored with Beate Hofmann). Rösch also collaborates with the charity Kinderklinkik-Konzerte e.V. (Children's Hospital Concerts).
Reflecting on the event's theme, Rösch said, "'Between Two Worlds'—that is my life." Drawing on his experiences as a professional entertainer and a Christian, he shared personal anecdotes to encourage attendees to engage honestly with others, step outside their comfort zones and ideological "bubbles," and ground themselves in their personal identities.
Rösch concluded his presentation by inviting the audience to join him in singing and humming along to several of his songs.
Media Day featured performances by the duo True North (Frank Morgan and Nina Catari) from Potsdam/Berlin, Germany. Their song, "Healing"—about the emotional restoration that begins when broken individuals place their trust in God—recently won the Inter-European Vision Song Contest hosted by the Inter-European Division.
The contest aims to discover and promote musical talent across Europe with entries centered on Christian themes. This year, the contest featured contestants from Bulgaria, Germany, Portugal, and Spain and was evaluated by national juries and online public voting.
During the event, attendees were encouraged to participate in "Project Slam"—a time set aside for each attendee to share their independent works spanning film, software development, and music. Attendees voted on their favorite project, and the one with the most votes received the Media Day Award and a €300 ($US334.29) prize. Melina Godina, a singer-songwriter, won the Media Day Award for her emotional musical storytelling, which aims to instill hope in listeners.
Media Day also featured 10 masterclass workshops led by industry professionals. The workshops discussed professional camera operation, narrative storytelling, musical arrangement, journalistic writing, vocal coaching, app development, and the use of artificial intelligence in modern media production.
