On July 6, 2025, during the 62nd General Conference (GC) Session in St. Louis, Missouri, delegates elected German A. Lust as an associate treasurer of the Seventh-day Adventist Church for the 2025–2030 quinquennium.

In these roles, he helps oversee missionary financial support and international service logistics for the world church.

Prior to his service at the GC, Lust was treasurer of the Northern Asia-Pacific Division for three years. He has also served the church in Argentina, Chile, the Philippines, and South Korea, contributing to the advancement of mission in diverse cultural contexts.

The election is part of the broader decision-making process of the GC Session, where global delegates gather every five years for worship, prayer, and organizational leadership decisions.
