Evangelistic Campaign in Angola’s Nova Centralidade District Ends With 200 Baptisms

A week-long evangelistic campaign in the Nova Centralidade District concluded on Saturday, January 17, 2026, with 200 people baptized across seven Seventh-day Adventist congregations in Angola’s Bié province, according to local church organizers.

Held January 10–17, the series brought together theology students, church leaders, and members with a shared focus on preaching about the second coming of Jesus Christ. Organizers said the meetings prompted decisions for baptism throughout the district.

A Moment That Transcended Ceremony

The closing baptismal service drew hundreds of attendees and was led by district leader and Adventist pastor Severiano Chicolomuenho Alfredo and Francisco Chiquembe. Among the baptisms, organizers highlighted the testimony of a woman who uses a wheelchair and was baptized during the service—an experience that, witnesses said, deeply moved those present and underscored the church’s emphasis on inclusion for people with disabilities.

"It was more than a ceremony," shared witnesses. "It was a silent sermon on inclusion, courage, and hope—proof that Christ's call excludes no one."

Missionary students from the Bongo Higher Institute of Theology also participated during the week, supporting local congregations through ministry involvement and outreach, organizers said.

Where Heaven Meets Earth

Church leaders emphasized that the week demonstrated what happens when divine movement meets human willingness. "Lives are reached, families renewed, and entire communities transformed," they affirmed.

At the conclusion of the campaign, leaders expressed gratitude for the district-wide collaboration and said the baptisms marked the beginning of continued discipleship and outreach in the communities served by the Nova Centralidade District.
