On July 6, 2025, during the 62nd General Conference (GC) Session in St. Louis, Missouri, delegates elected Alexander Ott as an associate secretary of the Seventh-day Adventist Church for the 2025–2030 quinquennium.

A pastor and global mission strategist, Ott has dedicated his ministry to cross-cultural outreach, with a focus on the 10/40 Window and unreached people groups. His international service has included leadership and missionary roles in Central Asia, the Middle East, North Africa, and Europe.

Ott is passionate about supporting frontline missionaries, providing training and care to help them thrive in diverse and challenging contexts. His work centers on equipping workers to share the gospel with confidence and cultural sensitivity.

He brings a missional mindset and deep experience in cross-cultural leadership to the GC Secretariat team.

The election is part of the broader decision-making process of the GC Session, where global delegates gather every five years for worship, prayer, and organizational leadership decisions.
