Seventh-day Adventist youth across the South Pacific Division participated in Global Youth Day on March 21, 2026, stepping beyond church settings to engage with their communities under the theme “Communion in Action.”

Across multiple countries, young people led and participated in a wide range of outreach initiatives, including home visits, health programs, food distribution, and public engagement. The activities reflected a coordinated effort to connect with communities through practical service.

In the Solomon Islands, young people and Pathfinders visited more than 40 homes across two communities, sharing short messages, prayer, and practical support through Bucket and Basket ministry. Other groups distributed food and literature in public spaces and visited nearby villages.

In Fiji, initiatives were carried out across several regions. In Lautoka, youth distributed care packages to 26 families in Koroipita and conducted health screenings and nutrition programs. Other activities included visits to hospitals, prisons, and local communities, as well as the distribution of around 100 fruit packs to commuters in Labasa.

Fiji Mission President Epeli Saukuru also took part in some of the initiatives.

“I want to thank all the youth and church members across Fiji for joining GYD,” Saukuru said, adding that this service prepares them for the upcoming Fiji for Christ campaign—part of the South Pacific for Christ movement.

In Papua New Guinea, children at a Port Moresby church took an active role in worship and outreach during Global Children’s Day, leading church programs before visiting inmates at a local police station.

In Australia, the Greater Sydney Conference (GSC) recorded significant growth in participation, with 23 projects organized across Sydney and Wollongong—up from five the previous year. Outreach included visits to aged care homes, street engagement, support for people experiencing homelessness, and community clean-up initiatives.

GSC Youth Director Dejan Stojkovic thanked the youth for being “a church that moves beyond its walls” and emphasized that the initiative is intended to continue beyond a single day.
