With more than 50 radio stations throughout the Americas using programming available from Adventist World Radio’s Voz de la Esperanza, it’s important to meet periodically to evaluate and assess the needs in the region, leaders say.
Communicators from throughout Inter-America and South America met for the 6th Annual Radio Mundial Adventista—Voz de la Esperanza [Adventist World Radio, Voice of Hope] meetings in Miami, Florida, March 2 to 4.
“The annual meetings allow interaction among studio personnel to come together to coordinate and discuss and improve current programming, the cross fertilization of ideas and training on technical matters, new equipment, software and standardize some equipment,” says Greg Scott, senior vice president for Adventist World Radio.
Station managers deal with a “variety of issues that will enhance the work of AWR’s broadcasting in the Americas, and issues and business that will enable the radio work to flourish,” says Ben Schoun, president of AWR. “It’s an important planning meeting.”
Voz de la Esperanza is intensely working throughout the Inter-American region, providing Spanish programming 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, that is being broadcast by 18 stations, says Victor Shepherd, AWR Regional director for the Americas.
Radio Mundial Adventista—Voz de la Esperanza has served the Seventh-day Adventist Church and international community since 1979 with international radio stations throughout the Americas.
