Adventist Women in Angola Mark International Women’s Month With Community Outreach

In observance of International Women's Month, Seventh-day Adventist women across nine provinces under the Southwestern Angola Union carried out a series of missionary, humanitarian, and social activities in their communities.

Huambo: Literature distributed during Women’s Day event

In Huambo, a group of 20 Adventist women participated in the city’s central Women’s Day commemorations on March 8. Led by the local director of Adventist Women’s Ministries, the group distributed approximately 170 copies of Steps to Christ by Adventist pioneer Ellen G. White.

Catumbela: Free transportation and literature outreach

In Catumbela, the church partnered with a local transportation company, Família Catumbela, to provide free rides for commuters traveling from the Pumangol–Catumbela bus stop to nearby residential areas.

The church covered the transportation costs, benefiting more than 150 commuters during the initiative.

Passengers also received literature, including copies of The Great Controversy, The Faith of Jesus, and Hearing the Voice of God, along with informational leaflets. Volunteers also offered prayers for passengers during the outreach.

The initiative was carried out in two sessions and concluded with a hymn and prayer.

Chipindo: Baptisms during the celebration

In the municipality of Chipindo in Huíla Province, the Women’s Month activities included a baptismal service at the Sangueve branch church. Approximately 25 people were baptized during the event, which was organized by the Chipindo Central Church.

Porto Amboim: Support for patients

In Porto Amboim, located in Kwanza-Sul Province, Adventist women visited the Porto Amboim Maternal and Child Health Centre to provide support to patients receiving care.

During the visit, volunteers distributed soup to approximately 75 patients. The outreach was organized as part of the Women’s Month activities and included participation from local church members and leaders, including Victória Cambambi, the wife of the district pastor.

Organizers say the activities across the region reflected the ongoing role of Women’s Ministries in supporting community service and outreach initiatives.
