Hope Channel International has marked a significant achievement with Hope Channel Kenya (HCK) reaching 100,000 subscribers on YouTube.

This milestone highlights the impact of the Holy Spirit in the lives of Kenyans and their embrace of the message of eternal hope shared by the Hope Channel Global Network, which consists of 84 affiliates.

Dr. Catherine Ontita, director of Hope Channel Kenya, reflected on the occasion, stating, “We can only praise God for how He has worked with and through us. This milestone isn’t just about the numbers; it shows the countless lives that have been touched, healed, and transformed by the good news of salvation.”

She credited the network's success to divine guidance and dedicated teamwork.

“Our subscribers represent people who are not just viewing content for entertainment but seeking a deeper spiritual connection. We’ve seen families united through the programs, individuals uplifted during dark moments, and lives transformed by the good news of Jesus Christ. For us, reaching 100,000 subscribers shows that God is using Hope Channel to fulfill His mission in Kenya,” Dr. Ontita added.

Leaders emphasize that this achievement demonstrates how God is using digital platforms to spread His loving message worldwide. Hope Channel serves as a significant player in this mission, expanding its reach beyond television through OTT streaming, online platforms, social media, mobile apps, and cinema screenings, thus providing hope and a deeper connection with God.

The success of Hope Channel Kenya is part of a broader trend, as many Hope Channel affiliates globally have also attained 100,000 subscribers on YouTube.

These include Hope Channel Philippines, Novo Tempo (Brazil), Hope Media Group (Ukraine), Speranta TV (Romania), Hope Media Network ECD, Hope Channel Inter-America, Hope Media Spain, Alwaad (Hope Channel MENA), along with Hope Channel International's Hope Sabbath School and Hope Kids.

The milestone achieved by Hope Channel Kenya aligns with Hope Channel International's vision to reach 1 billion people globally with the gospel by 2030.

Vyacheslav Demyan, president of Hope Channel International, remarked, “This remarkable achievement testifies to God’s profound movement through Hope Channel Kenya. As we look ahead to our goal of reaching 1 billion people by 2030, Hope Channel Kenya and many others stand as a humbling example of God’s transformative work and a reminder of the power of media to spread hope and healing.”

Stories of Hope

One of the countless stories of transformation through Hope Channel Kenya is that of Millicent, a woman who, on the verge of ending her life, found hope and healing through a timely call.

Millicent had endured immense personal struggles. After a harsh argument with her husband, she fled to her in-laws’ home. They offered her accommodation for that night only but required her to leave the next day. Desperate and overwhelmed, she felt hopeless. It was then that she contemplated suicide. She used the little remaining money she had to purchase poison from a nearby shop.

As she prepared to leave her in-laws’ house the next day, something providential happened. One of her in-laws had coincidentally turned the TV to Hope Channel Kenya, so she watched with him. An appeal appeared on the screen, encouraging anyone who needed help to contact the number projected on the screen.

Before taking her life, Millicent decided to call. Her first two attempts at reaching help on the other end went unanswered, and she took it as a sign that God had given up on her. However, on the third attempt, the phone was picked up by an HCK convert, someone who had also struggled with suicidal thoughts.

The woman on the other end recognized the urgency of Millicent’s situation and immediately informed Dr. Catherine Ontita. Together with the chaplaincy director, Catherine rushed to meet Millicent. They found her deeply troubled with her two children.

"Millicent shared her deep pain with us," Catherine recalled. "We offered encouragement and assured her that she wouldn't be alone. We prayed together and found her a safe place to stay that weekend. I truly believe God's loving voice spoke directly to her heart, urging her to hold onto Jesus as her refuge. Without that divine intervention, the outcome could have been very different."

In the following months, Millicent was connected to a local Adventist church, received financial support to start a business, and was eventually baptized.

Tragically, two years later, Millicent’s son passed away from injuries inflicted by her husband. Despite the pain, Millicent remains strong in her faith. “She is holding on to her faith, and we praise God for how He continues to sustain her,” said Catherine.

Millicent’s story is just one of many that illustrates how Hope Channel Kenya has not only provided physical and emotional support but also guided individuals to the faith.

A Call to Continue the Journey

Catherine calls on all supporters to continue in partnership with Hope Channel Kenya. “We are so grateful for this milestone, but the journey is far from finished. Keep praying for us and supporting us in every way possible as we continue to grow. This mission is not ours but God’s. It’s a mission for every believer passionate about sharing God’s message of hope.”
