Though he wasn’t martyred, he was declared a heretic and excommunicated by Rome. Forty years after his death, Wycliffe was dug up, his body burned, and his ashes scattered in the river Swift. All this because he dared to speak the truth and provide the Word of God to people in their native tongue.
