For the first time in eight years, families from 56 Adventurer clubs gathered in southern Ecuador for Aventurí, a three-day event organized by the South Ecuador Mission. The event drew 1,702 participants, and the children ran the entire program themselves, taking on roles usually filled by adults.

Through games, challenges, and service opportunities, Aventurí aimed to support the children’s holistic development and help them grow in their relationship with God.

Aventurí brings together Adventurer clubs, an Adventist Church ministry focused on children’s holistic growth. Through age-appropriate activities, the clubs help children strengthen their relationship with God, build new skills, and live out Christian values.

Throughout the event, the children took the lead. One group led worship, while others shared Bible messages, performed special music, and acted out Bible stories in short skits. A young girl served as master of ceremonies, hosting the program from start to finish.

The event was designed to create experiences that gave children a chance to discover their gifts, grow in confidence, and develop as leaders. The event also aimed to show them that they don’t have to wait until they’re older to serve God with their talents.

Over the three days, the clubs took part in physical and spiritual activities designed to build discipline, teamwork, fellowship, and Christian growth. Children made friends with members of other clubs, took on challenges together, and learned the value of working toward a shared goal.

The event also included an investiture ceremony for 31 leaders, recognizing their training and commitment to Adventurer ministry. Their work guides children’s development and strengthens the ties between family, church, and community.

Forty-eight children publicly gave their lives to Jesus, and several family members chose to be baptized alongside them during Aventurí.

Among them was a police officer who was baptized with his son. Event organizers said the decision was a powerful expression of shared faith and a reminder of how much a parent's example and involvement matter in a child's spiritual journey.

Serving God from childhood

The event closed with a call for churches to keep giving children opportunities to develop their talents, grow in their faith, and take an active part in the church’s mission.
