Zeno Charles-Marcel Elected as GC Health Ministries director at the 62nd GC Session in St. Louis, Missouri.

Zeno L. Charles-Marcel has been elected to serve as director of General Conference Health Ministries for the 2025–2030 term during the 62nd General Conference Session of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

A physician, educator, and medical missionary, Charles-Marcel brings decades of diverse experience in clinical medicine, public health, health-care administration, and medical ministry. He completed studies at McGill University (biophysics), Howard University (medicine), Loma Linda University (internal medicine residency), and the University of Arizona (leadership and health diplomacy). He co-founded the first academic Lifestyle Medicine Fellowship in the United States and has served in mission hospitals, lifestyle centers, and academic institutions globally.

His background includes service as Dean of Health Sciences at Montemorelos University and leadership roles in US government health systems and Adventist institutions. He also holds adjunct faculty appointments at three universities. A lifelong learner, Charles-Marcel describes himself as a student at the foot of the cross, constantly seeking to enhance his service through formal and informal learning.

He has served as a medical missionary in India, the Middle East, and Latin America, and is active in media, research, innovation, and disaster response.

Health Ministries promotes wholistic well-being by integrating faith and health education. It supports lifestyle interventions, medical missionary work, and public health initiatives, advocating for physical, mental, and spiritual health. The department collaborates with Adventist health-care institutions and local churches to provide training and resources for wholistic living.
