The South East Ghana Union Mission (SEGUM) organized its first Communication Content Creators Summit designed to equip church communicators with digital skills to advance evangelism and strengthen the church's online presence.
The four-day summit gathered 42 participants from across the union and was held at the Valley View University Women's Center in Oyibi, Ghana. Participants were trained in digital storytelling, content creation, visual communication, social media ethics, and strategic online evangelism.
The summit formed part of SEGUM's contribution to the global OneVoice27 initiative.
Held under the theme "Your Voice; His Mission," the summit was designed to encourage church communicators to use their creativity and digital influence to proclaim the gospel, reach new audiences, and inspire engagement with the Christian faith.
The training combined expert presentations with practical exercises to equip attendees to produce engaging and mission-focused digital content.
Dr. Solace Yawa Asafo, SEGUM Communication director, facilitated sessions on digital citizenship, social media ethics, and responsible online communication. Oswald Agyei-Boateng, local pastor, led discussions on brand positioning and developing recognizable digital identities.
Attendees practiced adapting a single gospel message into different formats for various social media platforms and participated in a 60-second Jesus-story challenge to sharpen storytelling skills.
The third day of the summit was led by Marin Nathan, photographer and videographer, and Samuel Agyei Nyarko, South West Ghana Union Conference Digital Evangelism coordinator, and focused on visual storytelling and media production. They facilitated sessions on mobile photography, lighting, framing, B-roll footage, flyer design, and storyboard development.
James Okyere, digital content creator and editor, facilitated practical mobile videography sessions that allowed attendees to work in teams to plan, shoot, and produce short gospel studies.
The last day of the summit discussed video editing, content development, and digital distribution strategies through CapCut, VN, and Canva Video.
Summit organizers introduced a 12-month content calendar designed to guide content development and distribution through September 2027.
The summit concluded with a commissioning, commitment, and consecration ceremony officiated by Dr. Nathan Teye Odonkor, SEGUM executive secretary; Peter Agyekum, SEGUM Evangelism director; and Dr. Samuel K. Dorgbetor, SEGUM Communication director.
Attendees were challenged to apply the knowledge and skills acquired at the summit to strengthen digital evangelism, support local church communication initiatives, and build a coordinated network of mission-focused content creators.
