Elvis Requejo, an Adventist Systems Engineering student at the Peruvian Unión University (UPeU), recently achieved international recognition as one of the winners of the VOCES por la ConciencIA Digital (Voices for Digital Awareness) contest. This competition, organized by the Credicorp Group, seeks to promote technology in the service of social change in Latin America.

Out of over 2,800 proposals from Peru, Colombia, Chile, Bolivia, and Panama, Requejo's project called "EducAI" stood out. This project facilitates and combines inclusive education with artificial intelligence.

About the EducAI Project

Requejo’s project offers a web platform that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to create educational content tailored to children's academic needs. Although initially intended to support children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), EducAI can be adjusted to other developmental needs. “EducAI seeks to ensure that every child, regardless of their challenges, has the opportunity to reach their full potential,” Requejo explained.

International Award and Recognition

The awards ceremony took place in Bogotá, Colombia, where Requejo shared an inspiring message. “Trust in God and do the best you can with what you have at hand; the results can be great.” In addition to a US$15,000 prize, his victory includes an invitation to the One Young World Summit 2025 in Munich, Germany. There, Requejo will be able to interact with young people from more than 190 countries and receive mentoring from the Credicorp Group.

With over 130 years of experience, the Credicorp Group promotes the Voices for Digital Awareness contest to support the innovation and creativity of young people in the region. “The world needs great changes, and it is essential to keep learning constantly,” said Gianfranco Ferrari, CEO of Credicorp, at the awards ceremony.

Upon his return to Lima, Requejo thanked God, his family, and UPeU for their support. UPeU celebrates the achievement of its students and reaffirms its commitment to the training of professionals with a social impact, providing a comprehensive education based on Christian values.
