Leaders from the Southern Asia-Pacific Division (SSD) and the Spirit of Prophecy recently visited Mountain View College (MVC) in Bukidnon, South Philippines, to conduct an ocular inspection of the proposed site for the Adventist Heritage Village. This visit represents a key milestone in the collaborative efforts between SSD and MVC as they move forward with the planning and development of this landmark project.

The proposed 10-hectare site, located strategically along the main road near MVC’s campus entrance, has been identified as the future location for the Adventist Heritage Village. The project aims to celebrate and preserve the rich history of the Seventh-day Adventist Church by creating a space where the church's legacy can be vividly experienced.

During the inspection, SSD President Roger Caderma expressed enthusiasm about the project's potential to inspire both the Adventist community and visitors. "This village will stand as a testament to our spiritual roots and the sacrifices of our pioneers. We hope it will serve as a source of inspiration and a reminder of our faith's journey," Caderma said.

The envisioned Adventist Heritage Village will feature replicas of historical structures, such as the original homes of early church pioneers like Ellen G. White and Joseph Bates. These authentic reconstructions aim to provide visitors with a tangible connection to the church’s formative years, immersing them in the history, faith, and culture of Adventism.

MVC President Dr. Remwil Tornalejo, who accompanied the team during the site visit, emphasized the college's commitment to supporting this endeavor. "Our collaboration with SSD underscores our shared mission to preserve and promote our spiritual heritage. This site inspection brings us one step closer to realizing a vision that will benefit generations to come," Tornalejo noted.

Although the formal signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) has yet to occur, both parties remain committed to moving forward with the project. The initial development phase, which includes infrastructure, landscaping, and the construction of heritage replicas, is slated to begin in early 2025.

The SSD leaders' visit concluded with a prayer of dedication for the site, symbolizing the collective hope and determination to bring the Adventist Heritage Village to fruition. This collaboration between MVC and SSD promises to create a lasting legacy, fostering a deeper appreciation of Adventist history while inspiring future generations.
