An Adventist delegation led by Teixeira Mateus Vinte, North-Eastern Angola Union president, was received by Angola’s Minister of Territorial Administration, Daniel Félix Neto, on October 12. The delegation appealed for understanding regarding the observance of the Sabbath.
Church leaders emphasized the importance of religious freedom, particularly as it relates to Sabbath observance. Delegates told the Ministry that Church members are Angolan citizens committed to the country’s development and asked that authorities take their religious convictions into account.

The delegation also received clarification on the national voter registration update.
The Ministry of Territorial Administration is responsible for the voter registration process, which opened on June 15 and runs until March 31, 2027. The government expects more than 16 million citizens to register or update their details and has been expanding the network of service counters nationwide.
Discussions also covered the Adventist Church’s social initiatives and contributions to Angolan society. Church leaders said they intend to continue cooperating with the State on projects that support community well-being and family life, and to maintain dialogue with the authorities on religious freedom.
