The humanitarian donation of over 3,860 tons of products, within the "Hope for Ukraine" project, implemented by ADRA Romania, was made following the request from the Union of Seventh-day Adventist Churches in Ukraine.

“The humanitarian convoy, prepared by Adventist believers from the Northern Transylvania Conference for Cernăuți, represents a small but significant gesture of friendship and solidarity. We found empty warehouses, but also people who, although tired after three years of war, have hearts full of hope,” said Ștefan Tomoiagă, president of the Seventh-day Adventist Church of Northern Transylvania and director of ADRA Northern Transylvania and Maramureș.

The convoy departed from two locations in Romania, Sighet, and Cluj-Napoca, and arrived at its destination in Chernivtsi, Ukraine, on January 26, 2025.

The aid—totaling over US$11,000 (54,500 Lei) —consisted of basic materials, food, and hygiene products.

“On January 26, our humanitarian convoy successfully arrived in Chernivtsi, Ukraine, after departing from two key points in Romania: Sighet and Cluj-Napoca,” shared Daniel Gomboș, ADRA Project Coordinator for Northern Transylvania and Maramureș.

The donations were transported from ADRA Romania and were intended for Ukrainian refugees.

“Every gesture of support helps them continue to support, in turn, those more needy than them. Let us pray that the One above will stop this great pain!” concluded Tomoiagă.

“This effort would not have been possible without the support of the community and everyone involved. I express my deep gratitude to the partners and volunteers who contributed to this endeavor. Through solidarity and involvement, we managed to bring a glimmer of hope to those affected,” concluded Gomboș.
