In a continuation of a tradition that spans over seven years, the Adventist Church’s communication community, GAiN Europe, in collaboration with Hope Media Europe, has unveiled its latest film and media productions, as well as written materials under the project titled My Greatest Purpose. This new global initiative focuses on life purposes and fosters collaboration among various media centers and entities of the Adventist Church worldwide.

The culmination of over two years of production was showcased during the official program of GAiN Europe, recently held in Budva, Montenegro. The event was led by Hope Media Europe under the direction of Klaus Popa, with strong backing from the Inter-European Division and Trans-European Division communication departments. Project Coordinator Adrian Duré and representatives from global media centers also played key roles in this effort.

The My Greatest Purpose project resulted in a three-part documentary series and a narrative film produced by the North American Division (NAD) and coordinated by Julio Muñoz, the director of the SONscreen Film Festival, along with significant contributions from Pacific Union College. Notably, this project showcases life stories of world-renowned public figures excelling in various fields, aiming to inspire audiences with their experiences.

Highlighting Public Figures

Duré explained the decision to feature public figures, stating that feedback from previous years indicated a need for engaging with influential individuals to expand outreach. “We realized this would be a way to reach new audiences with a positive and hopeful message,” said Duré. After overcoming challenges such as rejections and negotiations, the team successfully engaged well-respected figures enthusiastic about sharing their impactful stories with Adventist representatives.

Under Duré’s direction, renowned producer Lizbeth Elejalde Garcia from the Inter-American Division and Marcelo Ziegler, an experienced documentary director leading Hope Media Central Asia, produced three documentary series showcasing authentic life purposes through the experiences of public figures.

The first series, My Greatest Victory, includes five compelling stories from elite athletes, such as Aguska Mnich, a freestyle football legend and six-time world champion. Aguska shares her transformation through faith, stating, “Jesus changed my life. If He could change mine, He can do it for anyone.” The series also features standout athletes, like Nicola Olyslagers from the recent Paris Olympics, who emphasize the importance of how they loved others over her achievements.

Another series, My Greatest Venture, explores the journeys of renowned entrepreneurs and innovators. Among the featured individuals is David Aguilar, known as Hand Solo, who garnered attention for building a prosthetic arm from LEGO and now creates prosthetics for children around the world. Additionally, Dr. Rosana Alves, a Brazilian neuroscientist, shares her story of overcoming humble beginnings to become a global authority in her field.

The third series, My Greatest Purpose, highlights the transformative journeys of six musicians from the popular music scene. Kevin Olusola, a member of the Grammy-winning group Pentatonix, shares his journey of faith and hopes for the future. This series also includes Albanian opera singer Irida Dragoti, who recounts how her faith guides her in the elite world of European classical music.

Collectively, the My Greatest Purpose project has produced three documentary series, along with an upcoming book still in development and a narrative film titled Inner Space.

A Free Resource for All

Duré conveyed, “From the beginning, we saw an incredible opportunity.” indicating the project's aim to serve as a positive outreach resource. This initiative reflects the commitment of GAiN Europe and Hope Media Europe to inspire hope and purpose globally through impactful storytelling, ensuring that these messages resonate with audiences everywhere.

A New Platform for a Special Niche

For the first time, Hope Media Europe introduced the jplus app, a new platform dedicated to films, documentaries, and reflective articles focused on culture, values, and faith. Launching in March 2025, the platform will cater to audiences interested in the intersection of these three areas.
