Adventist Scholars to Gather at Friedensau Adventist University for Global Symposium

The sixth International Symposium of the Institute of Adventist History and Theology (IAS) will take place in Friedensau, Germany, from April 27 to 30, 2026, focusing on the current state and future directions of Adventist studies.

The event is organized by Stefan Höschele, director of the Institute and professor of Systematic Theology at Friedensau Adventist University, and Bernd Müller, director of the Historical Archives of European Adventism.

The IAS regularly hosts symposia to promote academic exchange among researchers. Its work spans a wide range of topics, including the origins, development, and global presence of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Recent contributions to the field include publications such as The Oxford Handbook of Seventh-day Adventism, the online Encyclopedia of Seventh-day Adventists, and annotated volumes of early manuscripts and letters by Ellen G. White.

The symposium aims to evaluate recent developments in Adventist studies, identify ongoing challenges, and outline areas for future research.

Presentations will be delivered primarily in English and are expected to be published in the academic series Adventistica: Studies in Adventist History and Theology. New Series.

Distinguished theologians and experts have been invited as speakers. The target audience includes scholars from various backgrounds, teachers, pastors, archivists, and individuals interested in the field of Adventist studies. The symposium presentations will be held primarily in English and will be published as part of the series "Adventistica. Studies in Adventist History and Theology. New Series."
