In the midst of rapid growth in digital culture, a new project is drawing attention both inside and outside the Seventh-day Adventist Church: the Christian video game Crown of Life, inspired by the concept of the Adventist Church's Pathfinder Club and designed as a tool for mission, fellowship, and spiritual growth in a format that speaks directly to the new generations.

The game was presented during a Video Game Conference held on November 14–15, 2025, in Pamplona, Spain. The conference offers a “massive virtual camp” where young people from around the world can experience activities similar to those of a real Pathfinder camp but in a fully interactive 3D environment.

The video game’s official launch took place on September 20, 2025, coinciding with World Pathfinder Day—an intentional choice that reinforces its Adventist identity and spiritual focus.

A digital extension of Pathfinder values

Organizers emphasize that Crown of Life is more than a video game. It provides a safe environment where young people can create clubs, collaborate on challenges, explore nature-themed settings, and learn values such as solidarity, service, perseverance, and leadership.

For the Adventist community, the project is seen as an opportunity to present Christian values in a language that appeals to youth, create spaces for fellowship that extend beyond physical borders, and demonstrate that faith can also be expressed meaningfully in digital spaces.

Its creator, Erik Hook, explains, "[The game is meant to be an] extension of the experience so many [Adventists] have lived at Pathfinder camps, but made accessible to any young person, in any country, at any time.”

From church events to public media

Although Crown of Life was first introduced in Adventist settings, including recent GAiN events, its impact has expanded beyond the church.

In recent months, Hook has been interviewed by national and regional public television channels that have shown interest in the game’s educational and ethical dimensions.

These media appearances have allowed the team to present the Christian character of the project and its message of hope to a broader audience. Leaders note that it is unusual for an Adventist-inspired video game to receive this level of public exposure, which has generated gratitude and enthusiasm among Adventist members.

Inspiring a new generation of creators

Crown of Life received awards from both the Adventist Church's regional entities, the Inter-European Division (EUD) and the Trans-European Division (TED), at GAiN 2024 in Montenegro, recognizing its creativity, technical quality, and missionary potential.

Leaders say the project’s success and visibility send a strong message to Adventist youth: when gifts in technology, design, communication, and digital creativity are dedicated to God, they can reach much farther than expected.

For many young Pathfinders, seeing an Adventist video game featured on public television has become a motivation to explore how their own skills can be used for mission in the digital world.
