An extraordinary display of international delegations was observed from March 11 to 15, 2024, in the city of Lima, the capital of Peru. The South American Division (SAD) headquarters of the Seventh-day Adventist Church for eight South American countries, developed the first "Women's School of Evangelism”, an event that brought together women who are leaders of unions and administrative fields of the church in the countries of Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Ecuador, Uruguay, Paraguay, and Peru.

The John N. Andrews auditorium at the Peruvian Union University (UPEU) was the scene of this historic event for the 50 South American Adventist leaders who with great enthusiasm and dedication, got involved in the development of the programming. During their stay, the ladies participated in presentations of reports, seminars, visits to Bible students, exchange of evangelistic experiences (testimonies), and more activities to motivate them and provide them with tools to evangelize.

Ladies on the Mission

According to current figures, the number of female church members represents a majority, undoubtedly an important force for the preaching of the gospel. Thus, the “Women's School of Evangelism” also becomes an opportunity to combine theory with practice, instilling, first in the leaders, knowledge that will later be taken to the thousands of Adventist women in different countries.

“The goal is for women to be intentionally committed to evangelism… Ellen G. White said that if there were 20 women where there is only one today, the preaching of the gospel would end; She reminds us that the value and importance of women in the mission is special… We dream of having more women involved,” said Jeanete Lima, director of Women's Ministry in South America.

From Women's Ministry, the Seventh-day Adventist Church in South America is creating adequate spaces to train its leaders to bring the message of hope to more people.

The original article was published on the South American Division's Spanish new site.
