On September 24, 2023, the Mercado de Culturas in Arroios, Lisbon, Portugal, hosted the first ADRA (Adventist Development and Relief Agency) & Partners Services Fair. It was an initiative full of solidarity, where participants had the privilege of serving 257 people, providing a variety of services, ranging from health and beauty to family, social, and psychological counseling, as well as food and clothing support.

Attendees were honored to have the presence of Dr. Teresa Pedroso, executive member of the Arroios Parish Council. They deeply appreciated her presence. Although Dr. Ana Martins was not present, her attention and care from the onset were fundamental to the realization of this project.

Everyone was also grateful for the participation of Júlio Carlos Santos, president of ADRA Portugal, and Dr. Cármen Maciel, executive director, whose presence and support were invaluable.

Those who coordinated the fair also highlight the presence of Célio Costa, representative of Casa do Cabelo, a local cosmetic store, who acted as a liaison for the brands that brightened up the area’s beauty: namely, Wahl, MsProfissional, and Andreia Profissional. Special thanks go to the company that generously offered visitors various samples of food supplements and wipes.

The special broadcast by Rádio Clube de Sintra, with the presence of its executive director, Marco Figueiredo, and the contribution of the International Temperance Association, represented by Rúben Nobrega, were also highlights of the event.

Landmark of Solidarity and Service in Lisbon

The team’s most sincere thanks go to all the coordinators, brands, partners, and volunteers who dedicated themselves, body and soul, to their areas of intervention. Their dedication, altruism, and smiles brightened so many people's days! They gave up time with their families to serve the community, and that was a true testament to their neighborly love.
